I think it's so much easier if you don't set out to figure out the songs structure. Just jam on the idea and whatever progression comes natural is probably going to be the best natural choice for the song.

i thought you hit that tonal sweet spot the louder the amp is. i used to blast my half stack to get a real crunchy tone
Are there any really great plugins I can slap on a vocal track to make it pop? I know the secret is a good vocal take and a good mic but I was curious if there was anything out there that could shine it up even more.
