Back In My Arms - new drum mix

I think I've said it before ido, you have a very pleasing voice and this kind of music suits it. Yeah, the Steve Winwood comparison is a good one. Not necessarily the same, just the same kind of vibe. Mix sounds well balanced to me. I bet you guys do cook live:).

New one - Wait For You

Thanks ido! Far from a Martin. It's a 2002 Alvarez RD20S. Not a very expensive guitar, but the day I got it I thought it sounded better than all the other guitars in that price range, and even ones costing a good bit more as well. Looks different than the current model offered. I had a bone...

New one - Wait For You

Thanks heat! Glad you liked it. I guess I never thought about people actually wanting to download my songs. Plus, that may not be the final mix. Can't have unfinished mixes floating around...should I ever put out that album I keep trying to finish:rolleyes:

    Other side of the medal

Great recording Joey and cool song! Your brand of metal defiantly draws from the 90's era, but I do detect a dash of Maiden, especially in the chorus. Really rocks!

New one - Wait For You

I appreciate the encouragement guys. Glad you liked it. Jeff, I just started learning to finger pick. It's hard! I'll keep what you said in mind when I practice. Thanks for the 0bservation.

    the flesh of lost loves

Your recordings are always nice and organic sounding. This sounds real man. You know what I mean? Real. I want to start playing the blues someday.

    more myspace compressed bs

Listening to get out of dodge. Sounds really good dude. Maybe a little to much extreme chorus effect or whatever on the guitar, but that's just a matter of taste. Bass and drums are locked in tight and sound really good. Singer has a good voice. I really like it. I'm not the best at mixing, so...

New one - Wait For You

Jeff, ..that is a tough frequency as it hits the upper mids pretty heavy. Did what I could, brought the whole thing down a few dbs and gave it some more verb. I think it sounds better for sure, but I also think it's a sweet spot on the guitar that rings a bit more than other notes. Updated...

New one - Wait For You

You're right. I noticed it from the beginning...but you nailed it. I'll spend some time on it after dinner. Thanks for the input Jeff. Stay tuned.

New one - Wait For You

Thanks for the kind remarks guys. Jeff...I think you're right. The main acoustic was recorded stereo, so I've gone back and panned hard left and right. I think it gives it enough space for the main vocal to live. Just over wrote the previous version. Better?

New one - Wait For You

Recorded this one today. Done in Garageband. Kind of sparse, like all my stuff. How's the mix? It's called "Wait for You" Thanks for checking it out. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=805880&content=music

    Opinions

You need to put some lyrics on this. It swings naturally and begs for some vocal performance. Nice melody, but really not quite enough to stand out without some vocals and some really great lyrics. That would take this song where it needs to go. I'll keep an ear out for them when they come.

Birthday Party (New Original Song, With Music Video)

What a great song. Is that you in the video? Jeez you look young. Nothing like I though you would look like. Seriously though, very cool song. Really well done. My favorite I've heard of yours. Cool vid too.

My best work yet..I think (2 Songs)

Yeah...this sounds great. Mix punch's nicely. Maybe a little too much vocal processing for my taste, but it really sounds great. Kind of has a newer Green Day vibe to it, and a dash of Nick Hexum in the vocals. Good job!

    Works in progress ♫

This is really nice. You tell a nice story. I think the mix sounds great. The music sounds pretty familiar, but your voice and the lyrics make it your own. You have a great pub voice, and you sing very well. Everything is nicely done. Great.

    "Lie for which to grieve"

I think it sounds fuckin' great like it is. I wouldn't change a thing. Love the lo-fi quality. And the performance really does it for me. Great song! Keep writing more like this. What did you record this song with? BTW...Love your taste in music per your myspace page. Alot of my favs as well.

    M-Audio Solo with DMp3

Do you guys think the sound quality of the preamps on the dmp3 is noticeably better than the ones on the m-audio firewire solo/410 (same preamps)? I like that the dmp3 has a phase inversion button for each channel which would come in handy for stereo recording-the solo does not. That feature...

    Satan's Bride

This mix sounds really, really good. You have a nice blend of old school medal (al la Queensryche/Judas) with mid 90's grunge (a la Alice and Soundgarden), that makes for a great listen. The toll bells in the beginning and in the breakdown have been overdone imo (but I'm guessing it's a nod to...

Help You Die - Greg's answer to healthcare reform

You said pee pee.:D As always, you have the best drum sound in the forum. Song is fun, sounds great, politically incorrect, and most of all rocks. The Ramones influence goes without saying on this one. We all know the Ramones kick ass, so that must mean this song kicks ass!
