A friend tried the same thing on one of his mixes. Read above How does not being able to find a simple tape recorder with those specifications equate to knowing how it works? For the most part, Google has not been showing me any sort of tape recorded with stereo ins.

I'm well aware of that and I like the character it imparts. Should I break it down some more? I'm just going to assume you can't read: MIX IN PROTOOLS, SEND SAID MIX TO RECORD ONTO A CASSETT TAPE, BACK INTO PT. Preeeetty simple.

I don't see how it was difficult to understand what I was talking about. I can't afford a legitimate tape deck, so I want to try my hand at transferring mixes to a cassette tape and back into PT, provided the tape recorder had at least mono ins/outs (considering recorders are dirt-ass cheap)...

GEE. I felt I was pretty clear about what I wanted. I need a tape recorder that can take stereo in/outs, or even mono I/Os. What I do with it is non of your concern.
