I think they are talking about the process not the final product. Just read what people actually post and it will make sense. If they were using their own process for making them no credit is due but if they used his process then I think they should acknowledge it.
I would avoid a Apple monitor for the time being. There seems to be a problem with the power inverters and most will not last for more then two years (this includes the models from about 3yrs ago to present) Mine lasted about 20 months and repaires will cost $509........a new one costs $599.
Where would you be grounding the outboard gear?
If they share the same ground you may get a Ground Loop
I am not 100% understanding your set-up, but do a search on ground loops and see if its something you will have to worry about with your new setup.

My main concern was that I have heard good things about the A/D's in my 002 and I did not want to get the Octopre or Digimax if the A/D's were not as good as the 002 even if they have better pres.
But it really does not matter now I jsut bought a DMP3 and will be getting another as soon as GC...
