I have the old SansAmp GT2. It sounds pretty good. You can select from 3different types of amps; California, British and Tweed. Their basically replicating Boogie, Marshall and Fender amps. You can also select amount of gain or go clean. You can use it for mic too.

Most programs already have a digital mixer in the software. You may use a traditional, hardware mixer but it's personal preference, IMO. As for a USB mic...I've never used one but you should be able to rout the signal to the mixer. But you might want to consider getting an interface and a decent...
