Please help! Not able to hear midi after importing from hard drive

Sorry, this was accidentally posted on another thread.

Hi everyone, happy 4th. I finally figured out how to import my midi files from my hard drive into pro tools. That was relatively easy. But I am not getting and sound. I can see that pro tools sees the signal when I chose certain outputs. And the signal shows up in the track view as well. Do I need to create a new output? If so, I tried that and went to setup/midi/midi studio setup/ and tried all that was available.I'm using mbox with PT Express.Thanks and be safe around those BBQ grills today.***
 
I don't know anything about Pro tools, but I would assume you have to provide an instrument for the midi to play, unless you are routing it to hardware to use its sound and then back in as analog. So, if you want the sound to come from pro tools, put an instrument on the track.
