what's the best rig to record direct with?

okay, I threw something together this morning with the Zoom g2.1u pedal. I'm not much of a guitarist, just goof around. Mostly I record stuff on a much "gentler" scale. You can go here and hear the sample. http://www.songramp.com/homepage.ez?Who=dmac Click on where it says "play" for sample...

what's the best rig to record direct with?

I know this is going to get some laughs, but take a look at the new Zoom G2.1u. This thing, in my opinion sounds great. It has some real decent amp modelers and effects and is quiet as can be. It has two different settings for each model, one for going through your amp, and one for recording...

Anyone know about lap steel guitars?

    computer recommendations

I know this has been gone over a gazillion times before. I am thinking of buying my first laptop for audio recording. What are your general recommendations for a basic but solid laptop for recording, spec wise, or specific models for that matter. I don't do anything heavy - just basic tracking...

    the mxl v67g

Gentlemen, I have been a lurker on this forum for some time and now I have registered so I may throw in my two cents also. I have owned a v67 for about 9 months now and have made a couple of recordings here at home with my modest recording set up - mostly light weight Christian oriented stuff...
