I've been doing drums lately and it seemsthat everytime I use the preamp on the Delta it sounds bad. It sounds like it being distorted like there is too much level. But even when the level is the lowest it sounds the same. The levels I get into Audition look ok but the sound itself still sounds...

I've been recording 7 tracks at once, they are drums, but some times one of the tracks seems to record ealier. I guess that means the others have a delay. But what causes this? Sometimes it even happens in the middle of the recording. I'm using a Delta 1010LT

I have a Delta 1010LT and I was wondering if there is something similar I could get that will work for a laptop. ie 10 ins

How come we don’t say this same thing about recording? Just as in mastering we don’t have the ‘professional’ equipment of listening environment. Isn’t it the same thing with recording in general? I guess we shouldn’t record either? But then what will the Mes do? Oh!!! :eek:

Up the distortion? What if I lower the vocals? Isn't the problem mainly with the vocals? Correct me if you think otherwise. Actually there is pretty good rock scene down here. But it is kind of in the shadows. Down here is more reggae and rap and stuff. PLENTY SOCA!!!!!

You actually noticed the clean guitars? That’s not the delayed thing right? All the guitars were recorded by micing this 15watt piece of crap with a SM-57. All the distorted stuff is two guitars per left and two for the right. What exactly abut the guitars you don’t like?

Well I'm not sure why it is so important really. I just find it a bit odd that in the Mixing/Mastering section on the Homerecording forum the concenus is basically that home recordists can't master. Why not just call it Mixing and have Mastering links posted. I'm not saying that home recordists...

AH!! Thank you! Everyone keeps talking about the vocals being too loud. I kinda agree but I still want them to stand out. The drums are what really pissing me off. Notice the kick? It’s weak but what you hear is really some parametric eqing to bring it up. It was recorded low. I didn’t think it...

Incase it isn't obvious, which it isn't, the begining of the song is supposed to be all vinyl like.

Packaging might not just be them. I have had similar issues as decribed ablove with MF packaging but I always assumed it was due to customs checking through it, being as I'm not in USA.
