I have a recent Dell 8400 with a SB Audigy Boards in it. I'm thinking I could get an M-Audio Firewire Solo and plug it in thru the Fire wire port on the SB board. I like the unit based on features and spec, and its portability attracts me. I'm wondering if the SB FW port will degrade my signal?

Everyone I hear on this subject says SB is good for nothing as regards home recording. I'm investigating new soundcards, and the M-Audio Firewire SOLO looks pretty good...

How come all these new digital recorders with up to 8 tracks only seem to record 2 at a time? My old cassette does 4! I'd be gassing for one of these if they did 4 ata time!

I'm a newbie to use of condenser microphones. My first attempt to record acoustic guitar revealed very nice tone but also the relatively loud noise of me breathing. I'd appreciate advice on coping with this problem (other than stop breathing...)
