Two soundcards = conflict?

I have a recent Dell 8400 with a SB Audigy Boards in it. I'm thinking I could get an M-Audio Firewire Solo and plug it in thru the Fire wire port on the SB board. I like the unit based on features and spec, and its portability attracts me. I'm wondering if the SB FW port will degrade my signal?

are you talking about a firewire port on the motherboard?

or are you saying the soundblaster audigy board has a fw port?

i have a friend who ran a motu through the firewire port of an audigy, and it seemed to work fine. You won't be able to use both cards in your recording software simultaneously however.
