holy crap man... this sucks.
I wonder if there are any "qualified service centers" in my area. I *really* doubt it. And yeah, we've got the manual for the Otari still. :D
I haven't even the slightest clue as to what kind of tape we're using currently. I should probably check that, and i...
I'm looking at buying a new "consumer" soundcard for my computer, a general purpose card for normal PC stuff, like games, movies, music, etc etc. I'm looking at the SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum right now, it seems to be the cream of the crop in the field today, and it's also touted to be the...
i'm new to the whole reel to reel style of recording, depsite i've been doing that more than anything (A friend has a studio with an MX5050mkIII). What do you mean by setting up the deck to the tape? what needs to be done, and how exactly does it affect the recording?
my opinion is this: The Variax is a damned good idea for those who want a plethora of guitar tones (and other tones as well!) and don't want to/can't shell out the cash for each guitar. For the homerecordist, I think it's a godsend.
However... This is the first generation of modelling...
here's a great suggestion... I've recently been made aware of this company out of Oregon called Breedlove. These guitars are just simply amazing. Gorgeous instruments, and they sound phenominal! When I shell out the cash for a *good* acoustic, these are the guys i'm going to. Now... if...
Obviously, with everything in this damned industry, there are decent products, and shitty products. But i haven't the SLIGHTEST clue about whether there's a big difference between various brands of tape.
I've seen tape from Scott, AGFA, Maxwell, Ampex, Teac, and a few others. Are any brands...

You would think this would be the case. However, having worked in electronics retail for two years, I've seen some rather odd cases...
It's amazing how some things start smoking, and other's just make funny sounds. lol
whoa, downshift there big roller... no need to doublepost.
Here's the deal... if your wah is basically some ELECTRIC parts, as in pots, transistors, diodes, etc etc etc... .6 volts won't make a big deal. however... if it's ELECTRONIC, as in has sensative computer equipment in it, it may...
Save up to between $400 and $700 and buy yourself an Antares AutoTune.
Never have to sing a decent vocal track again! Just like magic!
Ooooh... Aaaahh....
Someone mentioned the Marshall emulated direct outs, which was my first thought when I saw this thread. I have recorded these things, and you know, honestly, it sounded better with the direct out than the mic'ed results. I was utterly surprised!
And the mention of Ozone... Ozone is primarily...
if your local store carries Hosa products, they either carry it or will order it expediantly for you. I needed a 1/4"stereo male to two 1/4" mono l/r females and it was under $5 to order it.
very enlightening...
He chose the Behringers over the KRKs? lol...
Has anyone else used those HR824s? I've heard mixed opinions on them recently. Personally, i enjoyed 'em.
Yeah, i heard something similar to this as well, but I wasn't to sure on the authenticity of it, as the manager who told me I really didn't enjoy working for very much.
And these things are becoming WAAAY hard to find nowadays, at least in the Northern Cali area. I swear, before i got fired...
