Whoops, I take back what I said. The DMP3 is an excellent preamp. I just think its probadly my At4040 since it lacks highs. But again the DMP3 is a perfect preamp for hiphop and r&b vocals. Sorry for the misinformation.

I tried this and it helped alot with the echos. I put some blankets around some chinese closet doors, and faced the mic towards some hanging clothes in my closet. I couldnt hear anymore echos. It sounded dead like a real studio. I was even able to back away 1ft from my At4040 mic without picking...

At4040 mic can be alittle bassy sometimes and lacks clean highs.

My vote goes to the Wharfedale 8.2as. I bought them from the many positive comments from this forum. I used to mix with $30 Logetich speakers, but all I can say is that the Wharfe's are flat and translate extremely well in my car stereo and club speakers.
