    Replacing tuning pegs?

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'll book it in with the shop this month and have them check replace the nut for me. As much as I'd like to strip it down and repaint it...I'm just too damn lazy. If it'll play in tune that's good enough for me, since I just want to play it at home and maybe use...

    Replacing tuning pegs?

Ok kids, enough fighting. Back to the topic at hand: - my guitar is a solid-body, bolt-on neck with a regular bridge. No tremolo or fancy stuff. It is not a strat-style body, but I don't remember what the proper name for it is. - the tuners are 6 in-line, each one is separate. - the neck...

    Replacing tuning pegs?

So is there a way to rule out the tuners as the culprits? And if it's not the tuners, how do I go about pinning down what IS the cause of the problem?

    Replacing tuning pegs?

Haha good question. I'm thinking that I'll just have to bite the bullet and replace the tuners. If I do that I might just tear the whole thing apart and repaint it. Ten years after the fact...it's a pretty hideous paintjob. I'll have to swing by the shop on Sunday and see if they have...

    new to all this

I have a Mac and a PC, and initially chose Garageband over the packaged copy of Cubase 4 LE that came packaged with my Presonus Firebox. The reason being the complicated initial set-up that Cubase seemed to require. Garageband got me started without having to do that. However, I found that...

    Dead Inside - vers. 2

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this mix. None of the parts fight each other and the vocals sit really nicely on top of the music without being too much. It doesn't hurt at all that the song is pretty kick-ass too. I'm very impressed.

    Replacing tuning pegs?

Hey everyone, I have a guitar that I rebuilt several years back that I recently took out of storage. It was stripped, repainted and all the electronics were replaced. I restrung it and stretched them out as I usually do, retuning as I went. Once I'd gotten all the stretch out of the strings...

    Look, another noob!

Well it's been a while since I did any song writing, and I've always worked in a collaborative group as opposed to alone. We're in new territory for me! So I'm thinking about maybe laying down some bits of songs I like, just to get my head around what I'm going to need to learn about my...

    Look, another noob!

Hey everyone, I'm new to this site, but not music or recording. I just thought I'd introduce myself here to get started. So first a little info about me: - Been playing bass in metal / hard rock bands since the early 90s - Have recorded two albums in 'real' studios with actual professional...
