What do you mean when you say 'it doesn't record anymore'? Does Sonar startup with out any errors regarding the interface? Are you able to arm tracks but nothing is printed to disk?
When you change the audio settings to 24, does that reflect at the bottom of the Sonar window after that?
Also...
"Tape is what you do when you're either too lazy to tune drums the right way, too broke to buy new skins/drums or want to re-live the 70s without the acid trip. Let the drums breathe man."
:D
I love that!
Great post Lee!
You're on the right track :)
I have friends all over the Northwest and Canada with humble studios in their homes, and we collaborate and record 'together' all the time.
I do the lions-share of the mixing, so they basically all just have standalone recorders or small DAW setups in order capture...
I have Producer 8.53 so I can't comment on exactly where you need to go to look, but there is a 'Mixing Latency' slider under Audio Options that I adjust to make my midi keyboards more spot on...
:)
are you asking if you can record both the sampled sound produced by the TD20 as well as recording a MIDI signal from the TD20 to sample later?
If so, then yes... That is possible...
I've noticed night/day difference between 5400 and 7200 rpm on the hard drives.
Also, if you can get a dual drive to separate OS and data, that will benefit you as well... External drives are acceptable in this case also if you can't mount two in the laptop.
:)
I'm not familiar at all with the Korg, but does Sonar recognize it under MIDI devices?
If so, is the Korg set to send on a specific channel? Is the Sonar MIDI track that you are trying to record to configured to use that same channel as its input?
Are you seeing any movement on your track...
Sounds like a resource problem on your computer. Not enough 'oomph' being directed to Sonar.
But without knowing more details, this is just speculation :)
The Tascam may have added some 'overhead' to the files that Sonar doesn't recognize... Try importing the tracks into Audacity and then back out again... I've found this helps strip any proprietary residue on them if it's there.
:)
I have a small rack set up next to my drums that contains a 12 channel mixer, an 8 channel DI, a Minidisc deck, an Alesis D4 and a Yamaha A4000 Sampler I trigger with Dauz pads.
We have 'sequences' that I have recorded in Sonar consisting of the various horns, keyboards, strings, etc. recorded...
Your speakers will not show up under Sonar's audio drivers, only audio devices (sound cards).
If your computer's generic card is not showing up, you can try switching between WDM and ASIO settings, but it might just be that your card is not recognized by Sonar.
If there is no Audio device...
OK, this is about the 4th separate thread you've started for pretty much the same question.
You should really let us know a LOT more about what you're trying to do, including what OS, what type of sound card, etc.
Please try and stay in just one of your open threads and we'll try and help...
