    ==urgent!== It's In The Crack!!

I've downloaded some Karaoke MP3's for a friend, took them into CEP for conversion to WAVE format, but when I tried to find what key it was in, I found that it was neither a SHARP or FLAT but in between. This in muso terms is called "IT'S IN THE CRACK". By using CEP how can I change the pitch...

    Multitrack recording

If you're using a microphone and it sounds bad, check out your microphone recording/playback in the audio properties, you may have boost enabled.

    Multiple Outs

I also have Outputs 1,2,3 and 4 on my soundcard, but I think my situation is a little different than yours. Here's what I do with mine: 1 and 2 = port 1 from the soundcard. 3 and 4 = port 2 from the soundcard. 1,2,3 and 4 all go directly into an external 12 channel mixer. If I wanted to, I can...

    Is cep2 a complete studio?

I'd have to agree with 'chrisharris', using an effects pedal will surely give you what you want as far as volume. But I also have to agree with 'rats', your Fostex should work fine. You said: "I have a fostex multitracker xr-7 which I've yet to use." Is this an external mixer? If so, then...

    How Do I Make Soundfonts?

I have heard a lot on soundfonts in the past and through my understanding, they are sample wave files which have been recorded from real-life instruments. But that's the extent of my knowledge of creating and using soundfonts. Can anyone steer me to a good website to learn my on creating...

OK, I'll ask here too... does CEP support 88.2 kHz sampling?

I record at 44.1KHz mainly because that it can be burnt on CD and be playable on any CD Player. Do normal CD players actually accept 88.kHz ?

Did you actually buy Cool Edit or...

I buy all my own software as I need to, being a software developer myself, I know what it's like to have someone steal a copy of your program either by making a copy off someone elses CD or just downloading it for free on peer to peer net programs. But serious Folks, What can we do about it...

setting level of output on CEP

Are you trying to feed the output back into a mixer? Can you give us a little more info on what you're trying to achieve?

Not a BIG problem, but annoying...

Don't take my word for it but, it sounds very much like you have or someone else may have deleted some kind of database file that is owned by CEP or it's record that held 'default.ses' information. Try reinstalling CEP again and let us know if you still get the same message!

    Multiple Outs

Hay Tukkis, I read what you were requiring but I still don't understand what you're trying to achieve. Maybe I'm a little new to this and don't understand so could you please fill me in a little? Thanks. MrMusicAu

    2.0 upgrade

I guess your only option would be to go directly to the companies website to order it or to your local computer store which I'm sure would be able to get it for you. Other than that, I guess just download it from other sites. Sorry couldn't help much.

    Compression

Hey Guys and Gals, Just to inform you all that New Years Eve gig was a smash and man, what a full house. Recordings I've done with CEP came out great and there was enough botton end to blow them away without destortion or low bottom hums. You see, I seperate my instruments into two...

    mono to stereo

I think you've answered most of your own questions. However, if you really want to get each instrument seperated I think you'd be barking up the wrong tree. There is no way that you can seperate instruments especially with MONO recording, you will always have a hint of the other instruments in...

    Is cep2 a complete studio?

OK, Apart from all the replies you got, let us begin first with your sound card that came with your computer. 1. Most computers these days come with an onboard sound card. 2. Get yourself a good sound card (eg: SoundBlaster Live 5.0) or better. I use the SoundBlaster Live 5.1 platnium and...

    Compression

Thanks guys, that website looks to be helpful, so much so that I've decided to put it my favorites. As another interesting subject I found out that when making backing CD's for stage work compression isn't really the go, I have tried numerous ideas to make it sound better but then went back...

    Compression

Ok, I'll give you all a little more info' on what I'm doing then: 1. I'm a soloist who does his own backing music and sometimes use a second person to come play at gigs with me using backing I create in midi format then record each seperate instrument as seperate tracks in Cool Edit Pro 2.0...

OK, I'll ask here too... does CEP support 88.2 kHz sampling?

Why do you want to use a 88.2 kHz sample anyway? As far as 'Life Of Brian' is concerned, and respect to all women, every woman I have come across don't really understand the movie (including my wife, she falls asleep watching it).
