Speck Xtramix has a ton of features in a compact 3U chassis for less than $4K. Oh, but it doesn't have preamps or EQ. Speck does make pre's and Eq's though. You could end up with a nice mixer if you had the budget for it. Sorry this isn't that helpful.

I think Carvin makes (or made) a 1U reference amp but, I don't know that I'd recommend it. A 1U amp is a difficult thing to find. I don't see them much if at all. Just get a bigger rack and buy a 2U. You didn't want to hear that though, did you. :) Chris
