Ok..Help Me Build My Studio Building!!!

I'd go 8" thick concrete walls if money was available. Go to www.johnlsayers.com and read the Reference Area thread. It's got a ton of useful info to get you headed in the right direction.

    Control Room.

You sure about this? Gik panels are made with 8pcf mineral wool and they get great test results in the bass freq. range. I agree maybe not ideal for broadband absorbers, but for bass traps, they should shine.

    I hit the MOTHERLOAD!!!

That would've been great too. I'll gladly take the carpentry stuff cause it might make a better third income than any recordings I could do. I do have some experience with wood working, but I'm no Ty Pennington. Practice makes perfect! To everyone, thanks for the tips and advice. I'll do my...

    I hit the MOTHERLOAD!!!

I'm sure it happens, otherwise Jerry Springer wouldn't have a day job. :D My grandfather told me a story about a couple of cousins up the family tree who got hitched. Everybody rationalized that it was OK since the guy couldn't father children. My wife and I got married then got scared that...

    I hit the MOTHERLOAD!!!

Well, I thought I'd just share a bit of good fortune with you all since that is a rarity for me. I was at a family reunion this past weekend when I'm sitting with my grandfather talking about a flea market he visited that had mediocre wooden furniture for outrageous prices. So, I say "One day...

    Soundtracs 16816

Hi, I don't want to steer you away from this board but there are a bunch of audio techs at www.gearslutz.com that may be able to help you with this problem. Check out the site. Probably the quickest way to find the techs is to search the word "schematics" and get to reading. Good luck!

    FS: The whole shooting match

Rick, So you're saying you need to know by Friday? I may have a decision by then. Shipping Fedex (according to their website) would be $24.43. I really need this money and I fear that breaking it up would limit the potential profits. On the other hand, you're the only interested person I've...

    diffusion-why wouldnt this work?

I see the varying widths between slats but, I thought to be a diffusor it had to be varying depths. So, that may be the reason - wrong dimension being varied. Though it may work if you could angle the slats somehow instead of them being completely perpendicular to the wall they are fastened...

    would this design idea work?

I think just hanging broadband absorbers on the existing wall (that you can take with you when you leave) would be more feasible. As for the angled wall you can accomplish the same thing by making a wooden frame that you can screw (not nail) into the existing wall and stuff insulation in it for...

Advice on building a studio and equipment

I know you're new so, I'll try not to make you feel unwelcome. I'll just ask you to "Please, for the love of God, learn to spell." When I read posts like yours, I just assume your some dumby who wants to be the next big thing. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because your new and assume...
