    Heavy Bass Distortion?

I heard this band that wasn't exactly my slice of pie but I loved their bass sound it was a death/grind sort of band and I was just wondering who if anyone has experimented with adding really heavy distortion to a bass and came up with a good sound with enough low end to cut through? I was...

how do you replace samples of a one track drum track?

No, but if you want to get technical you maybe could try what the previous response was but that might work if you had a VERY consistent drummer, the dynamics were right and the drums were mixed well and or peaking in the right frequencies. Don't be cheap it won't pay off.

    monitors?

thanks I think I'll take your advice. I always tried to spend money on the parts that actually do the recording rather than these things. I guess I'm just being cheap but thats pretty dumb considering the small fortune I've probably wasted on CD-Rs :D any personal suggestions on some entry...

    monitors?

world of difference? I'm just tired of mixing it and it sounds right only to put it in my car stereo and notice the lack of bass. I think I'm ready for monitors.

    monitors?

OK I'll admit considering how long I have been fooling around with recording and stuff I should be ashamed of myself for this but I have don't have monitors I have some stereo speakers and its FAR past time I upgraded to something that can get frequencies below 200hz.:p I want to know how long...

    need some help recording drums

Hi, I don't mean to just throw out what everyone says but I have to disagree. You will probably want something with 8 channels but it is not a must. I'm assuming you mean GHZ not MHZ? Your computer specs should be great for recording. Now they have some great equipment that saves you money...

    Editing a track

I'm not sure what you mean but if you press T on the keyboard and click on the portion of the track you can right click and then click on split then you can drag out the piece. I'm not sure if this is what you mean but this is how I do it. I believe Sonar 7 has a default setting where the...

    Drumset in car

Last weekend me and my friends road in my friend's Corola 2 hours to downtown Savannah. There was 17 of us. = ) I was lucky enough to get to stay out of the trunk. I don't know what this has to do with fitting drums in a car but thats almost two Slipknots right there.

Hi I hope this Isn't to stupid of a question but Sonar 6 was expensive for my 6.50 an hour so I'd like to get my moneys worth. I need a bit of help. I'm trying to run a "softsynth" (vsti) and everytime I import the midi track I assign the channel to the "softsynth" and put the settings the way...

Best Mix i think ive ever done. Metal, check it out and comment please.

Good mix I'm happy to hear there are more people out there using real drums in metal/metalish music on the board. I can agree with everyone else for the most part I think the guitar is just a little too dull. There are a few things I would change but most being personal opinion like the toms...

    Recording Drums with Limited Channels

I started out recording drums with 1 cheap computer mic. (back in the day) Then I moved to 8-10 mics. Now I find myself using 3,4 and sometimes just 2 and my recordings are sounding better than ever. No more duct tape either. :D I know you've probably heard this a billion times but it...

    Doubling guitar tracks

I voted play it again. I play with a lot of heavy guitar parts so thats my reasoning. I've tried using different mics on the same amp or even splitting the source to come out of two amps/amp models at once and every other way to save time but it just never sounds "big" enough even with a...
