new original piano/ guitar

Thats definitely one of the BEST recordings I have heard around here. The mix seems fine to me...............I'm a LoFi guy though:D This piece really creates a mood though and I think that trancsends any other issues. Lovely piece.

    First post up for thrashing

Welcome MS Most newbie stuff I listen to is sooo bad I don't get thru more than a minute. With this, I would have liked you to expand on the theme. You kept pretty good time. Do you use a click track? Read and listen to a lot of music here and you will learn more. This is really quite good, I...

    Piltdown Man here... new one!

I get excited when I read a favourable Ghost review. This really is amazing. A song like this tends to transend boundaries and can be enjoyed by a broad range of people. I'm not thinking about mix issues with this song. Very GOOD:D

    New tune

I'm with Ghost and toki re: the jangly guitar. Helluva performance though. Drumming solid throughout. I LIKE it.

    Some live, some studio...comments?

listening to Croc at my feet Very "Doors" feeling here...................... Love the sound you get on the bass and electric guitar. Vocal sounds equally well recorded. Someone has access to some costly gear IMO Love that delay on the guitar Love that bit of feedback. Modern phsycadelia, very nice

I feel like this is done?

Great song-writing and a powerful performance. Probably ready 4 prime time. Wouldn't mind hearing the piano more when it comes in. Confident vocals. Singer seems very sure what he wants to do.

    The Idiot Goes Solo!

Hey VI The drums have the potential to sound good. Too buried right now.IMO Pretty wild drumming though. Bass sounds good, guitar sounds very 60's. The whole thing has a Beatles feel.

    Trade Secrets

Hey! I like the tension the guitar creats here. The vocal goes well with it. I couldn't understand all the words, but thats rock and roll for ya:D How did you make out with your dad's song "Moma's Boy"? I can see why he was wanting to have you sing lead on it. Tell the old man I said hi:) Dan

pop punk the way the ataris wanted it to be

You could try EQing the bass to try and get more definition. That would allow you to turn the bass volume down without losing the bass presence. That would probably bring the guitar and vocals forward in the mix also.

    Dance song

Great Vocal How's life in Quebec these days?? Now............................. You need to apply compression to the vocal, try 2:1 for starters. I use pre sets that are built into Cool Edit Pro. Vocal compression is what I think you need to bring the vocal to the front while keeping it in the...

    another new member-another new song

I am getting a real loud bass drone.................. Some synth thing no doubt, it's too LOUD in the mix. You NEED to tame that. I think theres some good stuff hiiden underneath that bass drone.

    I Can't Give Up

Quite a voice you got there. I almost turned off when I heard the water runnin at the start. This song is too good for sound effects IMO. The synth is pretty strange. Could be replaced with tasteful electric guitar. Good song & great vocal performance.

    up and runnin

Toki! Always exciting to see a Toki thread. I would like a more prominent bass. What I hear sounds good, I'd just like to have it up in the mix. The guitar sounds goooooood. I like your drum sound. This tune cruises nicely. Most enjoyable Toki!:) Dan

    The power of pregnancy.............

I guess everybody feels that way at first. I was on the road with my band for 90% of my first pregnancy. I remember sitting on a hotel bed one afternoon a couple months before my first child was born and hulcinating a perfectly formed baby playing beside me on the bed. That was when the REALITY...

    Feedback on metal-ISH tune pleeze

Modern but................. it has a sort of OLDSCHOOL metal sound that I like. The vocal was refreshing in that it was sung rather that bellowed in a low voice. Mix-wise it seems pretty solid on my speakers. Everything in it's place. The song-writing is also very good. I LIKE it:D
