I think people may be going over your head. You're probably trying to record in stereo. If you only have one microphone, and attempt to record in stereo, it's only going to playback in the left headphone. Record in mono, and it should playback in the center.

Has anyone recorded 7 tracks at once on a 700mhz Windows PC with 256MB RAM? (And not have any crapouts) I highly doubt it... And that's if I've got my numbers right. I did so with my old 350mhz G4 that either had 128 or 256MB in it, way back when I first bought my Delta 1010LT.

Eep, all of the classical recordings I've done (so far) have been in nice rooms that don't need extra reverb!

To be honest, I haven't heard a software emulation that I like a whole lot yet. NI makes one, Apple (through Logic) has one. I imagine that a fully weighted board would be the most accurate. I play a semi-weighted board (though my Rhodes comes from my Kurzweil PC2R, which is the best Rhodes...

At the very least they could have said they were using the demo to do it. I downloaded that once to give it a try, and found so many options and variables I didn't know what to do with myself.

I would personally go with option 3, just because you could probably get more use out of the mics. I'm a little blah over the power conditioner, and option two is worthless in comparison.

Yeah, I've played through a Roland amp at open mics and they're always on a stool or something. Not bad, but they always seem to be tiny compared to other amps. My Crate is a monster, but I love it for the price.

I've used regular RCA cables from my Kurzweil PC2R to my Delta 1010LT, and I think the only problems I've had were settings. I think the computer being more of the problem than the box.

I have a Crate KBA 150 that I picked up used for around $300 at Guitar Center. I was a bit weary about buying it since it was used and quite retro looking, but it does everything I need and is much louder than the 300 watt Alesis I was looking at.

What I would like to know is how all these high school aged kids end up with these Marshall stacks these days. And many of them are new stacks. I just can't see how anyone can afford such a thing... I mean, I'm a keyboardist, and I think that my Crate KBA150 was a massive value at $300 used...

I'd never thought of that... though those powered JBLs in my experience don't have much as far as inputs. Just one XLR in, if I recall. You'd need at least a DI box to use it.
