Hey guys, I've got a song I'm working on. My guitar skills lack, but I'd like input on the vocal melody, and lyrics. My voice is a little rough on this track due to being up for 30+ hours... Does this do anything for you guys? This isn't posted for mix critique, as I'm not at that point...

I'd try cutting everything past 4k with a low pass filter after the delay & lightly compress after that.

iPods work good too, just make sure you have the EQ setting on "flat" so you get an accurate representation of your work. I was told that even with a flat EQ on the iPod, they still color the sound a bit. That was my only concern. I definitely put completed mixes on my iphone & ipod.

Nice track! Sounding good Chili! I like especially like the piano part in it, it really adds some life and character to the song, and keeps it flowing. The lyrics are well written as well. My only suggestion at this point would be to consider compressing the bass a little more to help try...

Did he literally mean he wanted his snare to sound like a cannon? Or was he using it as some kind of figure of speech? Could he be talking about the old 70's or 80's snare cracks that are explosive and drowning in verb? Some things to try... Duplicate the top-snare track... pitch shift it...
