I'm going to be moving into a place where the house owner is crazy about putting up anything on the walls, and also I don't have much cash.
I was thinking I could set up in a corner, two 4 inch panels from ATS in a traingular shape with the mic's back facing the panels.
Would this help...
I have a budget of around $400 for a microphone or two. I'm looking for an upgrade from my Samson c01.
My question is, if I'm going to be primarily recording vocals (kind of like rocky votolato vocals if you've ever heard of him) and acoustic guitar (and other stringed instruments, but...
120 gigs should fine. If your automatically saving every track you do and making backups, then you might have to go through and delete what you dont need every once in a while.
acoustic? electric guitar?
moreover, the quality in you get from different recording software is neglegable. For starting out I'd recommend (and a lot of other people from here will to) you download Reaper, it free if you op to not pay the $50 after the 30 trial.
that preamp was the first one I ever owned coupled with a Samson Co1 (don't reccomend, way to noisy). I would spend $20-$30 bucks and replace the tube thats in there and you have a pretty decent preamp for very cheap.
No idea about that mic though.
good quality ones will have physical modeling too. say... if u play guitar and you pick a note, then pick it again, because of so many factors, the second time it sounded different. physical modeling just mimics that randomness to make the instrument sound less robotic.
I think youll just have to delete the take if you dont want to see it
that will happen when you record 2 or more takes on the same track, and whichever one you set active will be the one you will hear on playback. The other takes will be muted.
its useful to hear the different takes on the...
I'm using the M-Audio Delta ASIO drivers
the correct range is there and the enable inputs is checked
i went away for a couple of minutes but the armed track still didnt get any signal.
I'm using a Mackie 1202-VLZ3 mixer hooked up to my delta 1010LT's 3-4 input from the Mackie's ALT 3-4 outputs. I've been using Reaper as my DAW and everything was good, but a couple of days ago Reaper just stopped getting any signals from anything.
The Mackie shows its getting a singal from my...
Western Digital 320gig firewire My Book is the only external hardrive ive ever purchased and I'm extremely satisfied with it. Easy to install and no problems yet.
and since your using digi 002, im assuming your using pro tools. I would reccomend using firewire since (last time I looked)...
its also great if your recording on a computer. It'll take up less processor speed (or ram?) if you route a bunch of tracks to one bus with say, compression, rather than putting a compression plug in on each individual track.
