For me, yes and no. I own a VS880Ex (and a 1680) and kinda like both of them. To me there would be some major drawbacks in the plain vs880vx: a) only four inputs (which means: hard to do live drums!) b) no MTK (mastering toolkit). IMO the MTK gives the best compressor in the 880ex... The price...
