    Learn your monitors, listen to all kinds of music thru them ,your fav CDs.Also try using some bookshelf speakers and A B them towards the end of your"final" mix.Pro studios have been doing this for years....cheap speakers such Auratones were the standard for "real world" referance .

    You can also get 4 tracks at a time by going to setup and scrolling into D.G in and via lightpipe , hooking up a Dat machine and using the analog record inputs ....that will give you a 2 buss enterance if you hook up a board . This would be your 2 extra A.D coverters .Now you have your analog...

    You can also record 4 tracks simultaneous if you us a Dat machine use the light pipe in from the dat and the record inputs of the dat recorder this way you are using 2 dig ins and 2 analog ins this is the way to get more tracks at once .This is in the manuel for more info.

    You may be able to get a SR copywrite...That is where you copywrite the sound and recording of apeice "ie the performance" but not the writeing and creation of the work ..Go to your local library the forms are there.

    Small, cheap but decent mixer?

    You should look into the FostexVMO4 digital mixer...It also works analog .It costs about $200...Has 4 ch. Eff already in it..reverbs delays chourus and so on.. so you can save money there also .And if you get a DAT or Minidisk someday you can record through the optical lines for cool remote live...
