    First Post Here

Nice work. After I got past the snare artifacts, I enjoyed it. The 'saxophone' was nice and big, vocals are good and piano sounded nice. Good job Ray J

Very funky guitar tune -- LISTEN!!

Nice work fella. I'm listening on real player so I don't have much to add about the production. I like the modulation, the jazzy licks and the way you mixed up the percussions a bit Nice work Ray J

Does anyone have any MD data discs to sell?

Hey GH, thanks for the info. I've tried a few places and found them to be out of stock. I'll try Musician's Friend and the others you've mentioned next. I've read up a little on the 2816, it sounds like a good box, good luck with it. 16 tracks ought to open up a whole new world for you. Good...

Does anyone have any MD data discs to sell?

Maybe you've upgraded and are stuck with a few extra data discs that you will never use. Let me know, I'm looking for 2 or 3 of them, depending on the price. I don't want to buy too many incase I ever upgrade to a new recorder. I'm having a hard time finding the discs around here. Ray J

    tip

Very nice, dobro. I thought the accoustic guitar sounded pretty good, particularly the playing itself. Very creative vocals. Impressive piece. I"m gonna dl your other one a little later today so that I can check it out. Good to hear from you Ray J

    Going insane recording vocals

I had a 58 before I got my condensor mic. If you have a mic pre, the $99 Art will do, put the +20 db gain on, this gave me detail and crispness from the 58 that I didn't have before. If you do this, remember to turn your fader down before boosting with the +20 db, then gradually increase the...

New one... with voice acting... haha! "Running with Enemies". Mix comments please.

Ted, Nice tune, I like what you went into around 2:41 and the subsequent solo that followed. Very Smart Apple sounding and very good. Maybe the first half of the solo was a bit hot levelwise but I'm not really sure. I'm having a nice time listening to some of your other stuff right now. You...

    new song new goals

Slim - the accoustic guit sounded really good to me. I thought the relationship between the vox and the guitar levelwise sounded about right. Nice tune and a pretty darn good performance on the accoustic guit Ray J

    Very New Tune/ Old Inspiration

Regarding Gentle Giant, ha, somehow I had the feeling you ran across them at one time or another. This song doesnt' really sound like any song in particular that I've heard by them, but the slant is very 'Giant-like'. Nice work Ray J

Got a new one, could use help

dobro - "What do you have to do to get it sounding good on a 2" car radio speaker" Yeah, that's the trick. This one's far from fitting that description. I feel like I took a step backwards with this one from a production standpoint. My last two uploads prior to this were probably my best mixes...

Wow Doc, you're wacked. I like it. It reminds me a little of a group I use to listen to in High School called Gentle Giant. THis was interesting listening.

New song for fans of latin Jazz

Great tune Rob. The recording sounded strong and the arrangement was great. THe bass bothered me a little at times early on, not the playing but the sound. Not a big deal though and it didn't bother me as much as the song progressed because there was plenty other impressive stuff going on to...

Got a new one, could use help

Mac 2, thanks for the input, regarding your question, no, I tracked the vocals by singing it twice on two different tracks but I didn't pan on the way in. I tracked both of them dead center. When I mixed down, I panned the two tracks at 1:30 and 10:30 (appox). It is my experience when panning...

Got a new one, could use help

CyanJ - I tend to be really conservative with mids as a rule particularly on the vox. One of my friends offered to master my CD for me. I dl ed the file and listened and he really boosted the mids and volume and the tune has really come alive since. I don't have the mastered version posted but...

Yeah, I definitely like it, and I really like that unorthodox groove you have going when the bass and drums kick in Nice work

    New One

That's interesting about the G string. You may have started something. The accoustic guitar sounded a little funny to me but I wouldn't know how to go about fixing it. I struggle to record accoustic guitars myself and now that you mentioned the G string thing that may explain some of it. The...
