Greetings to all!

I recently uploaded a new song tentatively titled "Samba de Veinte". All MIDI and audio tracking was done in Power Tracks Pro Audio.
The sounds include:

Piano-- Hubbe Velo Piano soundfont

EP-- Yamaha TG-55 (custom sound)

Bass-- Fretless preset on Roland CM32-p

Drums/Percussion-- Blend of live drums, cabasa, maracas with Boss DR-202 and GM percussion sounds.

I started writing the song as an exercise in using my BOSS DR-202 for something other than the hip-hop/techno type music for which it is so well suited.

ENJOY!

48khz audio on SoundBlaster Live!
RODE NT-1 and Radio Shack condensor mics
ARt Tube MP preamp on Rode

A couple of times there I thought you had a real drumkit. Nice job overall.
My only suggestion would be to have a section where you switch out that bass patch, switch in a more percussive bass patch, (doesn't have to be slap- just a bit more bite) and do a short bass solo to break it up a bit.

Nice job Rob!....Beautiful song, beautiful recording...it's all there...a real pleasure to listen to....great clarity...soundfont, combination midi and live...UNBELIEVABLE!! Sounds fantastic...

Very, very nice!!

Really enjoyed your great sense of melody and arranging -- very professional!! Great voice and instrumentation!!

Great tune Rob. The recording sounded strong and the arrangement was great. THe bass bothered me a little at times early on, not the playing but the sound. Not a big deal though and it didn't bother me as much as the song progressed because there was plenty other impressive stuff going on to keep my attention away from it. I love this song. Very impressive. I'm gonna have to listen a few more times, the tune really built up nicely about 2/3 of the way through or so.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen for giving of your time to listen and comment on my song!

I will be working on a remix this week and your comments have been very helpful. I'll definetly try to make the bass stand out a little more.

For the record , I did play live drums as well as maracas and cabasa.
The conga, bongos, guiro, triangle, etc were from my Boss dr-202 and General Midi Standard drum kit.

Thanks Again,

Rob

Excellent production! Song is recorded sweetly! Bass a wee bit off but still rocks!

I commend you on the DR202 home-boy as that is also MY machine of choice!!!
