Lately I have been getting into a lot of chopped and screwed beats and ive been doing research trying to find out exactly what it is/how its done. I am downloading a program called Screwlab and ill see whats up with that but in the meantime is anyone here familiar with this style of rap or does...

I think fruity loops came out before most programs like ableton, reason, orion, recycle...ha the majority of them. The stock sounds, just in general lack in variety - but there are soooo many available to download. As far as making beats its the way to go.

I think it sounds a bit imogen heapish...the hipster vibe.

Cool - you said you liked the bass, we went straight it with a 45$ SX bass that I put some pre cbs (61 or 62) jazz bass pickups in and got really lucky ha. but thanks again

The vocals do get iffy though...it was hard because Id be on like the 15th take and he would still be flat or sharp or just not sound good so I just had to settle for a lot of the track.

I went from a yamaha aw16g or something like that to a BR1600 and I loooooved the BR series. It was very userfriendly and very manipulatable.
