Ok I've been mixing down from my tascam 488 straight into audacity on my old PC. I connect from the line out on the 488 to the line in on the back of the PC tower. Results are not very good to say the least. What do I need in between the 488 and the PC? A/D conv? preamp? if so any decent...

Just the knob wont respond anymore. The volume is stuck on full as much as you twist the main monitor knob. I'll try the seperate volume devices. thanks

The monitor knob on my Tascam 424 recently broke. Now the the volume is stuck on full, so it's unbearable to have headphones on now. IS there an easy way to fix this, or another solution? help me :( thanks
