If you have a second, dudes

Here's a song. It was recorded on a Tascam DP-02. I haven't figured all this computer recording out yet, but I'm learning. Anyway...comments, mix suggestions? Anything really. Thanks Thom demo 1 by followthebirds on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free Also, can...

    Beginner Guitar Theory Query

Ok, I just have a question about the Pentatonic Scale. I am just starting to get into theory, so don't judge. I've included the scale patterns as a pic, but I am still wondering how to apply them. What chords can I play these scales over, and what note do I start with?

    wobbly guitar?

Thanks man. Driver on my laptop? As in, my processor can't really handle what I'm asking it to do?

    wobbly guitar?

I am not sure where to post this really, but I am having a bit of a frustrating problem. I don't know what's going on with my guitar tone, and I don't even know if there is a problem. Anything that I record in Reaper with my guitar sounds awful on playback. Weird clicking, wobbly sounding...

    low gain problem, yall.

Just out of curiosity, what should my drums be peaking at? I'm trying out this whole EZdrummer thing for the first time....obviously.

    low gain problem, yall.

Yes the gain is all the way up on the interface. Rami- you called it. The max is somewhere near -6. I guess there isn't a problem. I'm glad I posted here where the judging is limited.:o Thank you!

    low gain problem, yall.

hmmm...a gain plugin you say. That's worth a shot right there. Thanks man.

    low gain problem, yall.

Track 2 is my guitar track. It's recorded clean into my FastTrack with the Output at full blast. Notice there is barely even a noticeable WAV length recorded.

    low gain problem, yall.

Yes I do mean the instrument input. It has a toggle switch that's a line in/guitar. I have the guitar toggle down. The problem with using my own effects to bring the volume up is that I wanted to give some effects I have in Reaper a chance so I wanted a clean guitar sound. I wouldn't mind...

    low gain problem, yall.

Sorry to ask such a boring question: I have an old M-Audio FastTrack (not the pro), and I am plugging my guitar into the guitar line on it, and then the USB to my laptop and into Reaper. The problem: The guitar volume is very low. Not like, freakishly low, but nowhere near the max, and...

    Any thoughts?

Hey awesome TW, thanks. I am using a Tascam DP-02, with a mic pointed directly at a tiny Fender Champion amp. Thanks for checking it out!

    Mixin' help?

That's a good idea. THis is my first time splicing drum loops together using Audacity, but I am going to add more dynamics (ie: cymbal crashes and buildups) the next go around. Thanks for listening gp82.

dude, thanks for listening. I'm glad someone besides me likes the real deep bass!

    Mixin' help?

I'm new at the detailed mixing, how should I be thinking about compression to improve the mix? You covered the EQ pretty well, but compression? I don't think I've compressed anything yet. I know, I know, amateur question.

    Mixin' help?

Yeah I hear you. The bass is too droning and large. Gonna take it down a notch. Thanks!

new acoustic song to share. free download :)

Well I don't normally dig on acoustic songs, but there was nothing about this that grated on my nerves, and that might not sound like a compliment but it is. You've got talent, no doubt, and your strength is your lyrics. Wish I could do that. Enjoyed it, man.

Alternative Rock (ala Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire..)

Geez dude, this is good all around. Great sound and from what I can tell great engineering, too. The vocals are the weakest link, not the parts themselves but sometimes they fit oddly in the mix. I like the guitar sound. You did a good job getting the Arcade Fire type rock guitar. The...
