HELP! What tool do you use to change these switches? I find myself trying for ten minutes to change the switch on my KSM141 with a little screwdriver, only to realize that all I succeeded in doing was scratching the plastic. Any suggestions?
Seeing this stuff in the works is inspiring. Seeing people do this (and all the other stuff you guys have posted), I feel like I could build a house.
:)
Okay, not really. But I am inspired to build stuff.
Yes, it does. The thing is, I just went into my system specs and my Mac recognizes that the Mbox is there, too, but the light still isn't on. I'm thinking of erring on the side of caution and either exchanging the Mbox or getting something completely different.
So, bought an Mbox 2, got stoked on it, plugged it in to the computer's dedicated USB, and no USB light came on. Looked in the manual, tried every combination of plugging in, etc. no luck. Plugged the Mbox 2 into my grandpa's PC instead of my MacBook, XP recognized it (surprise) but still no USB...
Medical bills are currently preventing me from buying a VST host, so I need one that is freeware or shareware. I don't want to download one illegally. I do want one that will work on my MacBook.
Also, if I wanted to patch a guitar or vox through my computer and use software effects, a VST host...
I believe Agoraphobic Nosebleed uses a drum machine. If it isn't them, it's another band, but I know it's very possible. As long as you know what you want, you can make the drum machine as fast as you want; typically faster than human drummers. Like I said, though, knowing what you want the...
I was hoping I'd be able to get something that would act as both a firewire interface and as a control surface, just to minimize the amount of stuff I have to lug with me to sessions, etc. I've been looking at both the Tascam and Yamaha models, but I'm not sure the Yamaha has firewire...
Bee Tee Double You (BTW), I like the tone of it a lot more than the guy who did the Harmony Central review. And I love playing it. So he can go... well, you know. Play something else.
Excellent, I'll look for it. Do you know a good place to buy some? I'll check Home Despot and my local hardware store.
As for a pic, gimme a sec and I'll take one. My room is a mess, though. :D
Are pots difficult to install? I just bought a 50's Kingston Swinga and the pots are all crackley. I know it's possible to clean them, but I'd rather buy new ones, install them, and have new knobbies for them and everything, as opposed to twisting the a couple million times. Do I need to worry...
Hi guys.
Do the Mackie Onyx mixers have automated faders? Just curious, if I get one, if I'll have to get a control surface too in order to do MIDI stuff.
I thought about making a cable bag by converting a duffle. I was going to coat cardboard in polar fleece or something like that, and make seperate compartments for different lengths, then attach velcro cable ties inside. I'll try and sketch up some plans.
Dang. I suppose I'll just jump through the hoops and download Finale NotePad. I may grab a demo of Sibelius if there's one out there, too. Looks like I'll just have to go with the "pay a ton and do a ton" option. Thanks. :)
Unless the speakers have some sort of individual control to allow you to set their levels.
I would say go with analog monitors. Digital sounds like a bit of a gimmick to me, actually. And analog has been tested and used for generations (okay, only three of them) and provides flat, clean...
Well, I wonder if you took a minifridge, gutted it, and just set the temperature setting to its highest, if that would work. The environment would still be temperature-controlled. I wonder if it would be too noisy, though. Probably. Plus cables would be an issue. It's a thought, though, right?
Yeah, I really like the technique. I showed it to some of my rock climbing friends and they were STUNNED that you could throw a rope and have it land flat. Plus it keeps the rope (cables) from twisting into a weak and non-functioning jumble. Hooray for innovation!
