Mbox 2 USB issue

So, bought an Mbox 2, got stoked on it, plugged it in to the computer's dedicated USB, and no USB light came on. Looked in the manual, tried every combination of plugging in, etc. no luck. Plugged the Mbox 2 into my grandpa's PC instead of my MacBook, XP recognized it (surprise) but still no USB light.

And when I try to open ProTools (7) the computer freezes and tells me I have to restart it. Did everything I could find on their website.

Is my problem my compy or should I take back my Mbox?

Does your comp have USB 2.0?

the mbox 2 is a usb 1.1 device. sounds like your mbox 2 is defective. if it doesnt work on two computers. take it back, get another.

Yes, it does. The thing is, I just went into my system specs and my Mac recognizes that the Mbox is there, too, but the light still isn't on. I'm thinking of erring on the side of caution and either exchanging the Mbox or getting something completely different.
