Maybe just repeated dumbass attacks but I haven't got this thread started!
What is everyone using for cd burning speeds? I am burning at 8X and having problems with popping on the cd's themselves. Is it a problem with the cd's themselves or the speed that I am burning?
As always with the MS (or any) software I can stand to be corrected.
Do you have the upgraded driver for Win 2000? I do believe that at the time of release that alot of the hardware and companies waited until 2000 was available before udated drivers came out. What worked for NT 4.0 or 98...
At http://www.fostex.com which of course is the home site for fostex. They have them for $9.00 I think but to place and order you have to spend a minimum of $20.00. I went through the same thing about 6 months ago and ended up selling it anyway.
I use 11 superbullets because of the Floyd rose tremelo and I'm a bass player with heavy hands. For bass I use either roto sounds (baaad for my Rick but great sound) or boomers. They're all as heavy as I can find 'cause I break 'em. Haven't broke anything on my strat though.
I can't speak for the Carvin guitars but I did build a bass using All Carvin components including the neck and am amazed
that more people don't use their parts. I also use a 4-10 shop built cabinet with carvin speakers plus two single 15" cabinets with carvins! The electronics are great and the...
I've seen and read about that lumber and am really interested to hear what the wood really has to offer...I've heard that the solid body electrics have a sustain that goes on and on. I've even thought about getting a big enough chunk for the center of a body to see the difference. Of course the...
Oh yes I too fit the old fart bill!!!!!
The sound that we look for is half rig and guitar. I bought a nasty peavey with two 12" celestions along with a so called metal strat. Pots suck but the tone you can get with an older power amp can't be matched.
Anyone remember the old SVT bass amps...
Two thumbs up for Cliff R.I.P.
No offense meant at all and sorry for the lack of attendance to the WEB!!!!
The only thing that any bass player lacks is balls! I am and have been a bass player for years and can keep up with most any guitar player. EGO yes and I can back it up! You know what...
You may have to get yourself a board in order to get the inputs you want. Once you really get into it you'll even find out that 8 inputs aren't enough. The drums alone can burn up at least 8 then you have the rest of the band.
Eric as far as the technical aspects of it I have no idea. I can tell if the sound quality is there or not on playback.
I have always believed in you get what you pay for and I had to go middle of the road to get started.
It looks to me as a good affordable setup to start. Not Pro by any...

You can EQ and add all the effects that you want but after one boiling you are done.
I've played bass for many years and there is only a small window that you have as far as good tone. When they go bad put on new ones or boil'em and record it fast.
You might also check into sound board. I know from the various jobs that I've on that it does a nice job of insulating. Yes egg cartons do have diffusion but from my experience dead air space is one of the best insulators and sound proofing that there is.
Let me now how you fair...I'm always up...
I think I read up on the live drive II at the Creative website www.creative.com. I'd have to check again but I think the II was around 145.00 US. Specs and everything should be there.
What you have is just a different way of putting your music together, nothing wrong with that. Music is music no matter how you put it together. If you are recording it on the computer you are doing the same thing we are all trying to do, just in a different way.
Music is an art and all about...
I've found out through my years (44 today...ouch) that I can never quite get the same sound as many of my favorites. Don't have the same equipment or money to get the sound. And for the most part artists usually don't have the same sound live as they do in the studio. Keep plugging away and at...

You are right about red lining with digital, it is absolutely nasty sounding. I've done it
by accident and digital isn't forgiving when comes to that.
Gaffa I'll give it a try!!!
I can tell you one thing about the FD-8, don't use it to get distortion it's nasty. The FD-8 will give you better results than an analog mixer though. If you buy a live drive II along with a SB live you would be able to run digital optical in out of the FD-8
