i have a 1082 but actually have yet to use it >< (woohoo vista 64bit, working on figuring that out) so, sadly i can't give any helpful advice about the use and performance, but it's a solid feeling machine for the price. i've heard that the fw1082 requires a 6 pin firewire port to function...

so my idea to upgrade to a firewire interface... i dont want a firepod, i've used one for a couple projects and getting it to work with vista 64 was a nightmare. i like the idea of the presonus firestation (2 XLR, and a bunch of 1/4" line ins) but its out of date and presonus never made vista...

a song some friends and i did, put it together in the first few takes definitely not a finished product (tempo gets sketchy when drums come in among a list of other imperfections), but as a general layout, do you guys like it? let me know what you think...

using acid music studio 7 (yeah hahaha) and i cant figure out how to just select/highlight a section of a track and up the volume/gain/anything for just that section without changing the other tracks in the mix. i know it's a dumb question, but the tutorials arent helping and i cant find it in...

just going through band in school, swapping sticks for sticks, i've played zillions of them. without a doubt regal tip 7a's are the sweeeeeetest sticks i've ever touched, doubt i'll use anything different in the future :D

sheratons are so damn pretty. i've played the elitist model and own a non elitist sheraton II, and i gotta say there is a difference of course, but i dont know if it's worth all that extra dough. if you're trying to conserve some cash, just go with a sheraton- i promise you will be very pleased :)

oh duh naiant. hey which one/ones will work best for some overheads? 2x msh-2 or 2x XS minis?

ok for my birthday my parents bought me some mics to use for overheads. they went down to guitar center and got 2 audio technica vx1 VOCAL mics to use as overheads... apparently the guy that sold them was really pushing them as a good idea for overhead mics. i just thought that logically...

ok sorry to post the hell out of this thread, but as i was playing along to some stuff today i noticed i have kind of a weak hit with my foot, and so i was wondering if the dw is sensitive enough and light enough in nature to respond to lighter attacks or not? the dual chain looks intimidating

alright, so do you dw 5000 lovers have experience with the new model with double chain as opposed to the classic single chain? turbo or accelorator? go chainless and get the strap driven pedal? pros and cons?

ok let me put emphasis on how there is no way to find/purchase 90% of what tab sites have to offer. i could understand how these sites are holding people back from learning to be better musicians, but that shouldnt be a legality issue... or should it? :cool::rolleyes::cool:

holy shit do not put vista on anything! vista will soak up your gig of ram and leave you lagged and screaming with some keyboard slamming in there at some point (personal experience). its also less user friendly and just to be safe on compatibility, stick with the xp! :)

this shouldnt even be an argument! tab sites save those of us who are not able to play songs by ear. most importantly- i WOULD in most cases go out and buy the songbooks for the music i want to play, but unfortunately a very low percentage of bands i listen to have their music printed out and...

holy crap the dream cymbals sound wonderful. i'd still wanna try them in person before purchase though, thats my suggestion. you wanna meet your wife before you get married, right? so try out the cymbals before purchase :) thats my take on it i guess :S
