Thanks for the effort. The sound you have chosen for the picked electric DI is pretty close to the official mix. I can hear that you have used a lot more of the BGV than I have in my mix. By the way I have uploaded a new bassguitartrack without the accoustic guitar in it.

    high Octane Guitar Instrumental; "Silverstone"

Cool tune. Very well composed, played and mixed. The funky feeling kind of reminds me of Chickenfoot. I can totaly hear Sammy Hagar belting it out and Michael Anthony laying down some backing vocals on this one.

Nameless Child - work in progress

Thanks for taking your time to listen and give very helpfull detailed comments. I will look into the drum sound. There is actually no heavy compressing going on. There is a subtle compressor on the drum bus that reacts to the snare with about 2db of gain reduction. That`s it. There is also some...

Nameless Child - work in progress

Here is Nameless Child. I am working on this song for the moment. Any suggestions and tips are welcome. We have tried to make it sound kind of raw and sore with no overdubs except from vocals.

"The Wild Animals", test mix, please listen!

Sounds good to me. As TalismanRich pointed out, there is a lot going on, but your mix seems well balanced and gives space to everything going on. As for the bass, in my opinion it needs to be that loud in a pumping rock track like this. Well done!

    Rock Tune Mix......

As mentioned earlier, bring the guitars up. Bring the drums down a bit and bring the reverb on the drums down a lot. You could also try to bring the reverb on the vocals down a bit in the verses and let it shine in the choruses.

    And The Bands Played On

Hello! Such a great song and good memories! Mixwise I feel that your guitars and bass should come down a bit in volume, and drums and vocals should come up a bit.

Seeking Feedback on my first project from new home studio

A good song. As others have mentioned, the lead guitar is a bit (a lot) to loud. I would also consider to eq out a bit of the lows of the lead in the intro. As the song goes by the lead gets a little repetitive. Strong and well recorded and produced vocals.

Feedback wanted before sending to mastering - Falling Down, glam rock

Hello Could use some fresh ears on this mix/production before it goes to mastering. The mixbus is completely dry as I like to leave it before mastering. No limiter or compression. Thanks for listening! Falling Down by Tambarskjelve | Free Listening on SoundCloud

    Favorite snare mixing techniques

My goto approch is to use either the snare top or the snare bottom mic, whatever suits the song best, to trigger additional samples with a gate. Causes me some trouble with ghost notes and fast runs that I haven`t fully figured out how to deal with. So typically I will blend in more of the...

Big Ride by The Story of the Sun. Anthemic rock song

The mix seems fine. The synth at the beginning a little bit loud maybe. I would also consider making the synth part more interesting if you wish to keep it as the main element for those parts of the song. As mentioned by others, the vocals need work (retracking) The falsetto at 0,50 and 1,54 is...

    Manslick - The Bullet's Gash

I use live drums and a gate on the snare to trigger some additional samples. I also take 3 copies of the snare and treat them and blend in after taste. One snare "bite" treated to emphazise the stick attack, One "snare destroyer" just the mids with some distortion and one "smack" treated to get...
