Marshall JCM2000 TSL100 or MesaBoogie Dual Rectifier Solo Head?

I would be glad to have either one! But I 've alway thought that a 50 watt head is plenty for recording or clubs. You can crank them up more to get a better sound while not blowing away the rest of the band. Or you could get a power soak. Never played a Boogie

    Recording time

depending on the length and number of songs, you can get about 4 to 5 songs on a 250 zip. I have been saving four songs on each disk so I dont max out the space in case I want to go back later and ad something

    G&L Update

I'll probably try to get the dealer to throw in some extra sets of strings or something. It's not the dealers fault, more like Seymore Duncans or G&L. The dealer who owns the local music store where I ordered it from actually played at my wedding 9 years ago with his band. So I dont plan on...

    G&L Update

Reco; Go to the G&L website and take the factory tour. Its pretty cool how these things are still made by hand. Check out the models and the availible options. That might help you decide.

    Drum Help?!

Hey guys, I'm interested to hear how you guys have been recording your drums? My biggest problem is laying down drum tracks. I have A DR550 mkii that sounds pretty good. But dammit! this whole thing with programing in a song bites. Once you program your basic pattern you have to program in...

    G&L Update

I just wanted to say how happy I am with G&L Guitars even though I dont even have my axe yet. I order it about four weeks ago and at the time the dealer told me it would take about three weeks to get here. Well that didnt happen. Yesterday I get a call at my office directly from a G&L marketing...

    Simple first time digital questions

hey man, Maybe look at a unit with a Zip Disk for storage. With my FD-8 and the external 250 Zip Disk I can record four or five songs on a single disk and then just pull it out and slap another blank disk in. The songs are stored in multi-track form, just not mixed.

    BRUTAL Distortion

I agree with Cooperman, you can piss around with pedals all you want, but if you want a decent guitar sound go out a buy a good amp. Get a Fender, Marshall or Boogie with tubes in it man!

    Fostex FD-8/4 to CDA track

I'm in the same dilemma. My thoughts are that a stand alone CD burner would be the way to go. Other wise you would have to buy the soundcard with he optical input plus the mixing software to mix down with on the PC. You could alway use the burner for making custom CD's also. Does that make...

Your Worst Live Concert or Rec'ding Session.

I think I was about about twenty also when my band accepted an offer to play at this bar in Michigan. We had a 1972 School bus converted over for our use. (By the way if anyone wants to know it takes 10 gallons of paint to paint a school bus)Any we drive there with some friends who ran sound for...

    VF-1 / Foot controller question

Hey Guys, I have a Boss VF-1 that I use for recording. I really like the sounds that I get. I'm think about starting to do some live stuff again with some former bandm mates. My question is, the VF-1 manual says that the Roland FC-200 foot controller is compatible with my unit. Now these...

How do you like your FD-8?

Hey Pitch, I have the FD-8 with the 250 Zip drive and I really like it. So far I have had no problems and I really like to recordings I have made. The only downfall is that you can only record two tracks at once. If you need that I would maybe reccomend the Yamaha MD-8. If not you can't beat...
