    RE: 2488 Stereo Mix!

This is what I am doing... I am assigning channels as you describe. I'm not using the submixer either (although in the lower right corner of the home display, it does say "sub"). On the mixer section of the 2488, the light is lit for stereo (so you would think that I would be hearing...

    RE: 2488 Stereo Mix!

RE: 2488 Stereo Mix! Some background: I have a 2488 MK II. Currently, I am running a whole lot of instruments through a Behringer MX3282 board into inputs E and F. I am also running an Access Virus Ti desktop into inputs G and H. I like to do a lot of complex arpegiation between my Juno G...

    Electro Harmonix Memory Man (original)

I don't know... I use several EH pedals on my board (Stereo Mem Man, Deluxe Electric Mistress, Small Clone, Small Stone, Big Muff Pi). Do I get some noise...yes, I suppose, whether it's from these pedals, my other pedals, or my familiar Strat 60 cycle hum, I have no idea. I do love the old...

    Electro Harmonix Memory Man (original)

Excuse me, Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai! I was just playing it in the studio. It could ALMOST be a vacuum cleaner with all of the neat stuff on it. Speaking of pedals...right now, I'm dreaming of a Roger Linn Designs Adrenalinn III. This thing is incredible (plenty of video's on YouTube...

    Electro Harmonix Memory Man (original)

I've got the Deluxe with Hazari... I haven't noticed any noise issues. I've had a lot of fun with the effects on this thing...very cool!

Do You Like (Or Hate) Your Voice?

Like some of the others here... My voice SUCKS!! That's why I don't sing (except, when I'm drunk, I kind of sound like Tom Petty...).

    Mixer or Digital recorder

Oh well, I'm sure I'll get dissed on this, but... I'd rather not go through the 6-12 month curve it takes to learn computer DAW, plug ins, vst's blah, blah, blah. I'm a hardware kind of guy...I use a Tascam 2488 MKII as for my multitracking. A Behringer 32 channel board and real guitars...

    Newbie alert! - Comments appreciated

Well, again... it's a very nice sound. I tend to do similar things, but maybe a bit more electronic (NOT house or techno...) and it's all hardware based (keyboards, ext. sequencers, guitars etc.). I'd love to hear more music. Keep the songs coming.

    Newbie alert! - Comments appreciated

Damn Fantastic stuff! I'm very impressed. Very haunting and big. The arrangements are wonderful. The sounds are very well put together. I'm curious to know what kind of equipment you used to get these sounds...hardware, or software?

    Recomendations: Tascam 2488

I've just started working with the 2488MKII I bought it for a great price on ebay. So far so good, however, my only piece of advice would be to order the DVD tutorial from Amazon. Tascam's owners manuals are not the greatest and the DVD can get you started very quickly. They are put out by...

Kurzweil PC3 reviewed in Keyboard Mag 12/08

Attn: Alexbt RE: PC2R You say you run a PC2R Module. What do you think of it? I may have an opportunity to pick one up for $599.00. I'm just trying to decide what I would get rid of (I have a ton of synths and modules).

    Arp Heads Sound Off

Lots of opinions here...the question is: what are the best arpegiators under $2000.00. I am and have been a huge fan of a band called Ozric Tentacles. They are not techno, house, trance or hip hop. If I had to describe them, they are pyschedelic, space music. My primary Arpegiator is on my...

    Echoes

Interesting Indeed... Very Philip Glass, but with an identity all it's own. Well done.

    Keyboard synthesiser or Midi controller?

Yes, you're right... I don't do computer DAW (I use a standalone DAW) and all of my keys are hardware (no software), but I thought you'd want to use a usb keyboard instead of a midi keyboard in those situations.

    Keyboard synthesiser or Midi controller?

I'm thinking the only reason you would use a midi controller vs. a midi synthesizer is price. Typically, controllers are less expensive. Personally, I have several midi synthesizers that are controlling several rack/tabletop synths and it all works fine.

    My New DP-02

Hey Wooperman I don't think the units will sync up. I could be wrong though. I will be keeping my DP02 as a back up unit. I am just about ready to get my hands dirty with the 2488MKII (I have been finishing up a CD with the DP02). Tonight, I will be hooking everything up. Tomorrow, I will...

    New gear help!

One more thing... Just because the meters on the far left of the display show a signal doesn't mean you are recording. You need to make sure that, in addition to the signal on the far left, you are also seeing the signal come up on whatever track you are recording on. It's a very easy machine...

    New gear help!

You haven't armed the track... you want to record on. You need to pick the channel (A or B), press it and the track you want to record on (it should blink fast), then, when ready to record, simply press the track (so it blinks slowly) and you're good to go. Takes a little practice, but easy...

Best Tube Head under 20 watts

LOVE my Fender Blues Junior... It has a great overall sound at 15 watts. I'm curious about the Blackheart though...I'll have to check them out.
