There's a deticated MIDI forum over on the bbs, take a look there. I think you might want to set some parameters in you software, likt the midi out stuff...you can either go out of the 1010LT's midi port, or you can send the virtual 'Midi out' from the sequenser to you software synth, like a VST...
I have them, and I love them... I use the 990 in combination with the 991 for acoustic guitar micing (X'Y or otherwise), and the 990 on vocals. I'm looking for something better on vox though, probably the MXL V69M or V67, perhaps SP C1.

hey robstowell, the 'noisy' bit of your post; does that refer to some rumble, noisy sound? Beause mine does that too... I'll post a clip this weekend or so....
I appreciate the suggestion and help (really do), but I'm a bit hesitant, I mean, the Sssnake cable looks very good too, and proved to be not.. so if no-one has had experience with it to tell me it's good quality.... :o
Please advise me on this... any other suggestions too?
Oh, and for the...
Strange, as I said the shielding on the Sssnake cable seemed very good to me, but whatdo I know...
Do you think the Farnell cable is as good as the Cordial I linked to in my above post?
Thanks for the suggestion.
Stan.
CBI...not available for me in europe I think...
I'm going with the cordial cable per meter, it's €0,70 per meter, which is not the cheapest of cables, but it looks to be good quality. Anyone thinks there should be a different approach for me?

Oh, and I have one more question too: any recommendations for mini-XLR cables (thinner)? I need one with a lenght of like 6 feet... recommendations, anyone?
No, I've removed the connectors, and then measured it with an ohms-meter, but they still short-circuit....so it has to be the cable...
For what I've heard, most people advise to build my own cables (yes you ARE getting exited about customizing lengths on your DIY cables), any specific type of...
I'll wait for some more suggestions, but would anyone be interested in receiving the GLS cables for me, and send them to me in the Netherlands (or do you think they'd do that themselves?). I can do paypal or wire transfer, PM me if you're interested :)

Hi,
I usually bought the XLR cables from thomann, their own brand (Sssnake). Now three out of four mic cables I bought from them, failed on me: Pin 1 and 3 just short out, so my condensers won't work with them as they don't receive any power. Now I can't blame them, I mean they were 25' cables...
Ow, sorry, I actually didn't really know what you were talking about with the ABR-1 (sorry), but I saw you asking for saddle things and frets.com was the first thing that popped into my head...sorry, should have looked what you were asking in the first place..
I can't help you with anything...
OMG, this question really DOES get asked every week !
try a search..
from the top of my head: SP B1, MXL V67. I get reasonable results on vocals with the MXL 990, and very nice results on ac gtr with that mic, not as nice as my MXL991 though...

Looking at what you're going to do, it seems you're on a budget (who isn't?), but if you really want to learn to play piano, with both left and right hands at the time, you'll be looking at a larger keyboard (more keys), I'd say 61 keys is the minimum, preferably 88 keys (like a real piano)...
