thats what i do. I have my mxr phase 90 on one side of my delay and a chorus on the other side stagered. My Flange is on the right of the phase and my two distortions are right next to each other. So i can go from light to heavey in one stomp.

I have used a sm57 in the kick drum and a m219 oktava a foot and a half away. It came out nice.

I would go M-audio quattro. I have one it sounds great. Lots of options. Cheap on ebay, I bought mine for 130. And go sonar, they work good together and cakewalk has been around for a long time. Also buy a Oktava vocal mic. THey are cheap and sound great.

I use the quattro which is basically the same. You change the bit rate in the m audio controll panel. You might have to go to the m audio websit e and download the latest driver. The higher the bit rate the less inputs you have .

I dont own a yamaha set but I do own one of two silver glitter pacific cx's. I love them they are all maple and kick ass. They are loud good tone and I got lucky I got the second glitter set ever made, the other went to the namm show. I stick behind pacific all the way

Will the use of phantom power on a sm57 hurt it. Can i use phantom power on a mixer for one mic that needs it even though another doesnt.
