I own an SM7 but I have only used if for recording Rap once or twice....I use an ADK TC GK-67 for female RnB or Rappers, and an ADK Model TL for most male rappers...not saying the SM7 doesnt work but never heard anyone say that you shouldnt use a condenser. anyway...to the OP....your question...

maybe you can record the song while you play and sing...then use that as a scratch track....listen to that track in cans while you play along with it again and record the guitar track...then go back and listen to that again while you play guitar and sing along with it....but use a dynamic mic on...

a couple of the mics you have listed there are widely considered as workhorses....what kind of pre's are you using? Maybe that should be your next investment.....

depends on the pre....some are nothing more than just that....meaning the only option is turn the gain up or down...other pre's may have built in EQ's or compressers which would have more effect on the tone...

if Im understanding you correctly, you need to use the envelope tools...there are envelopes for volume, panning, and effects....Im not on my studio PC right now, so I cant tell you exactly where you choose these, but there are buttons at the top of the screen in multitrack mode that will take...
