    The "NOFX" beat...

Which bands were you in? I live in Canada and would be interested to know. I've seen all those bands you mentioned numerous times and probably seen you play. Smelly surely only does use single kick, and his replacement while he rehabbed only used single kick for sure. Dayglo kicks ass for sure...

    Best Mic PreAmp between $300-$400?

hey, does the m-audio dmp3 work as a normal pre or is it just a pro/tools digi application. I have no experience with this at all. I was just wondering because i hear all the great things about it but couldn't find anything about anybody using it with non-computer based recording system.

    Multitrack recorders

agreed on the 1608, I find it very user friendly, and we made some pretty decent recordings the first time around, and they just keep getting better. Before this though i was all tape so I won't even comment on other machines.

    Quitting

I get frustrated all the time, can't get what I hear in my head to come out in my recordings because of my lack of recording/mixing/mastering skills. But what makes me sometimes slightly think of giving up is when a group of people and myself work really hard on writing a really good album...

    Metal amp

I don't know if I understood that last post, but don't get a cheap berhinger man, at least settle on the xxl. Unless Im misunderstanding and 3000 aus(australian) is only worth like 2 bucks yankee. Then yeah buy a shitty 2 dollar behringer, thats all they are worth. I wish I knew what 3000 au is...

Choosing the right strings so I won't bend the neck

I use the ernie ball power slinky set on my Ibanez Rg for heavy tones. They are a 48 on the low e so it's not as extreme as zw boomers but a little heavier than a 46 and you shouldn't have to worry about bending the neck puttin em on, a slight rod adjust maybe to set the action and a little...

    Metal amp

yep that's it the tri-amp. It is a great amp but like echelon implied, very expensive. Probably worth the coin in my opinion!

    Metal amp

hey, try a genz benz el diablo, it has lots of versatility and real good overdriven/ distortion tones. Or I played a peavey JsX the other night that was real cool, peavey's seem to have a lot more high/trebly sound to them. Another amp that I played and like is a Hughes and Kettner tube amp, I...

    What's With Crate Anyway?

sorry, I was just fuckin around, didn't mean to ruin your "cool thread", why do poeople take internet so seriously, Crate sucks, unless your robert randolph, and play bitching pedal steel, and get special amps made for you. And I went to see the horrorpops last september, and Geoff Kresge blue...

Goog small amp for recording metal

I fuckin agree, is that the tone blaster you recorded that with, that's cool cause I heard so much shit about those amps and I figured it was all just because of the fuckin elitism people display all the time and I think I figured right, judging by the way your tunes sound. Really good by the way.

    What's With Crate Anyway?

Being a hockey hoser from up north, I can say the first amp I had was a yorkville. It was awsome. I love the yorkville/traynor stuff. Some of it real good. My brother has been playing a 200 watt 2x10 bass combo for like seven years, that thing has been dropped, kicked, puked on, we hosers love...

Goog small amp for recording metal

man, I got to rock the piss out of my valveking 212 last night, and must say it was fuckin dyn-o-mite. I always hated peavey because I only ever experienced their transtube shite. But now that I have this I have a new found respect for peavey, and for only 600 canadian for a pretty versatile...

    Kustom Quad Heads

I got a quad 200, I've never played the 100 watter, but I can tell you the quad 200 is a kickass amp. It's not the best amp in the world but it is definatley a good amp. It is loud as fuck, the built in effects are a pretty good, the delay is actually quite nice, it looks cool, the balls preamps...

Goog small amp for recording metal

Okay I know a lot of people will think fuck peavey or whatever, but a peavey valveking is nice and cheap tube amp. It has lots of gain and can give you that "metal" tone or whatever the fuck that is. I play in a punk/metal band and really don't need that much distortion to get the heavey sound I...

    Heavier Tone

if you want a good distortion from your tube amp playing at low volume, try a zombie rectified distortion pedal from rocktron. IT's cheap and it's deigned specifically for tube amps and helps overdrive immensley. It sounds like shit with a solid state amp but it is super sweet when put in front...
