Actually, yes, the card can record four tracks seperatly if your multitrack software and computer can. You can assign and split each of the two stereo inputs to two tracks each. It works within Nuendo for at least...

Starting to sound like a dodgy connection somwhere. Broken cable or such... I assume you have tried restarting your comp? Or perhaps the track you are recording on are panned to one side?
