It turned out great... I'm happy with it and so is everyone else. What I did was brought in my computer so we could make any neccessary mix changes as we mastered, which made a lot of things sound much better. At 12 songs and 2 one minute interludes, you better be ready to pay some money! Hehe

Drop them all down 1-2db, or drop them all down so the overall level doesn't past -1 - -2db?

I'm taking my songs in to be mastered in about a week, however I'm sending one song in today for a test master. I have never found any infor on my one question. During mixing, what should be the highest level? Right now when I play back my mix, the levels constantly hit 0 and the little red...

I don't know if this is a phase problem, but in all my songs it seems as if the right speaker in parts where there might just be soft guitar and bass or something soft where you can hear everything, there is a whooshing wave in and out type sound... Like a hiss waving in and out pretty fast...

RJT, do you think i could hear one song both mix version and master version? I'm really curious on how much mastering actually does. I know its the mix that matters, so i'd like to compare.

Well i don't really like the constant echo on the voice... And also IMO the snare and kick don't stand out... Sounds like i cut out some of the parts on the vocals line accidently.

Thanks! Well here is a couple flaws you might have missed: Sometimes when the toms come in, like earlier in the song, you'll notice the cymbal that was hit just before it actually comes up in the mix. I fixed that in most of the tom hits, but some where hard. But it's being worked on. And...

Nanahime the one thing that sounded cool, but got a little annoying cause how the drums have a huge stereo field... Well the snare mostly. But the mix sounded very nice!

There is a method of miking that everyone refers to here that is supposed to balance everything, but for my type of recording/music i've never ever gotten the toms to come out how they should... However if you aren't doing like metal and loud guitars and all that stuff you could probably try...

Hey dumass Here is how i did everything: 2 Oktava MK-12's as overheads - These went into a mixer hard left and hard right with no eq at all 3 Dynamic Mic's for toms which went in to the same mixer with eq on them Then i took a left and right out from that mixer into my soundcard via RCA...

No such thing as to heavy... One thing i've noticed with most of these mixes is that the bass overpowers everything to much... (not yours) But i do like how everyone got the bass to shine through, I always have trouble with that. - Charlie
