record the solo and wah straight in and run the playback through the vamp while you record.. then "reamp" the solo through the vamp so you can change sounds to fit the part... that's how i'd do it if I couldn't get the wah and vamp working properly in the tracking phase..

If you are going up to around 1,500.. I'd say 003 for Pro-Tools.. RME for everything else.. And as far as I know, everyone (esp Pipeline :D) is sour on DICE-II because it is unstable and it has problems with different systems.. ie hit or miss as to whether or not it'll work properly for your...

I've been looking at the io26 for awhile, but I'd probably go Presonus mainly due to the fact that I've heard ALOT of bad things on this forum about DICE II drivers.. so I'm wary of it, BUT I still like the features alot more that the FP10's.. -Paul

True, but the big thing with the Firewire Interface vs. USB (for me anyways) would be USB for MIDI/MOUSE/KEYBOARD/HARD DRIVE and Firewire for Audio.. just less stuff going on with my audio bus. My 2 pence.... i mean cents..

pops and crackles, to me, means clipping or just shitty sound card all together, but pops usually mean clipping i think. And an interface would help with this. But.. I would say a usb controller isn't going to gain anything from an interface. EDIT: On second thought.. Taking the sound...

well i should most likely go with the motu 8pre cause i need a new interface... but i'm also a bit iffy on passing up a good condition peavey 5150 original with brand new tubes all through for 500 even.. But i don't really NEED the 5150

400 is good, but the FP10 is $400 US over here... so it's just weird that even though the euro and the pound sterling are worth more than the dollar it still costs the same to buy them over there.. -paul
