How to do real time recordings in adobe or cool edit?

I have Cool Edit pro and adobe 1.0 how do you set up for real time recording where you can hear yourself through the headphones as you record?

I hate to say something as mundane as "it's all very clearly explained in the rather well-written manual" but, it's all very clearly explained in the rather well-written manual.

Well sorry I apologize for being an idiot but I dont even have the manual? Are you referring to a tutorial written on this site? If anyone could send me the link or wouldnt mind explaining Id appreciate it. Ive found tutorials for more recent versions of adobe but when I try there is always a step that includes a function that 1.0 or cep does not have.

He might be suggesting that if you had a legitimate copy of the software you would have the Manual.

Would also help to know what your hardware set up is like.
