what are some average eq levels for hip hop vocals

if I remember properly-don't quote me-you need to turn down the mid slightly...and probably wanna turn down the bass a tad (depending on the MC's voice).

    Fun with Cosmetic Features!

I prefer not seeing knobs...I think those amps that have an 'on' button only and are all shiny are f--in awesome looking. Maybe have a cover that flips up when you want to change settings...it'd look better AND keep pesky friend's from changing your settings.

    the big question post

Thanks a lot. I've been contemplating getting that m-audio buddy, it sounds perfect for what I'm doing(single channel vocals from mic>computer).

    2 mixers together

I'm gonna break down(after I have enough money, of course), and get a 3-ch mixer. Sadly I'm still new(10mon)at DJing, but I want to try some stuff with 3 tables. 1 has a general record, 2 has stuff to accentuate it(synths, extra beats), and 3 is either for extra accentuation or for the next...

    2 mixers together

But doesn't hooking 2 mixers together degrade the sound quality(I believe I remember trying it and it did)?

    2 mixers together

I'm a DJ and I'm currently using the Numark DM1001X mixer. It only has 2 channels and I'd like to use 3+ channels simultaniously(for DJing, still). The mixers I see with 3+ channels only are a bit steep for my price range ($150), and am wondering if it's possible to hook two 2-channel mixers...

    gargle effect...

record the sound of blowing a straw into a glass of water into a pc. turn down the pitch and eq it properly for the bubble sound, and copy it over your recording.

    Intro to mic pre's

I'm also interested in this...it's hard to find good material on musical equipment(not instruments). I'll give it the old college try to find some sites and post back.

PROs and CONs of Digital and Analog mix boards ?

I'd say get a digital. It's so much more convenient mixing into a computer. You can do single tracks and mix them easier.

    cheap first mic

sony v220 at best buy. It'll work fine. don't expect greatness. It'll go through the mic or input, whoever said that is mistaken.

Add to this, please, and submit what knowledge you have regarding questions. Mine: How is/can a preamp/amp (be) used in relation to recording? How can this improve recording quality?

    Ya'll wanna hear me??? (song)

I like the beat a lot. But, the lyrics would sound better from a person with a faster flow and a higher-pitch voice. Also the lyrics are pretty predictable(rims'n'girls).

If you had to use 1 mic as a ray gun prop...

Get a crazy looking ray gun from walmart, hollow it out, and stick in a mic of your choice.

    sorry for asking

I donno what happened, but there's barely any noise. Something must have changed, I notice no hum, even though I can hear my compute hum 10 ft away.

    sorry for asking

Good show, time to hit some pawn shops. I found my $20 bestbuuy mic actually doesn't sound half bad going straight into a computer. I could use some better clarity. What is that called, what I'm looking for, clarity? definition? responsivness?

    sorry for asking

Thank you, I'll check out some pawn shops. Don't try looking up what the sony is, I got it from best buy for $20...not bad per se for just messing around, but horrid if you want anything to sound clear(it distorts and even moving your hand on it makes noise).
