ok so i think i am just going to cut the power to the whole house and run my computer from a generator.... Ill have to get a few lamps or change my ceiling fan, its got a dimmable light on it... the hall light right outside my rood is dimmer, the living room has two dimmer switches (they are...

    Noise Level at -63db?

can televisions and cell phones, playstations or alarm clocks cause this RF interference?! I gues the best way to do this would be just to turn the dimmers all the way off, as long as the light is off, it wont emit RF right? i cant switch them because its not my house haha

    Using Digital I/O

My end goal is to compare the end result of both of these transfer lines... I must not be getting something important here because it seems like a very easy answer but I havent got it yet from anyone. My question is simply: If I play the piano and record it on my computer with a balanced...

    soundclip of monitor buzz

Monitor is still buzzing even with volume all the way off on my HP4 and even if they are plugged into nothing but power... here is a sound clip http://home.att.net/~darkecho/monitor_noise.mp3 I have tried so many things... I am starting to think maybe its the surge protector they are plugged...

    Noise Level at -63db?

well i just tried two other cables in my stack, they are TRS and both got worse than my monster unbalanced cables... which is odd.... and its still odd that my USB cable lowered my noise when plugged in.. it also seems that my volume lowered when two cables (balanced or unbalanced) are plugged...

    Noise Level at -63db?

Hmm but then why would the level of noise change between the two different cables... The cables im sure will transmit nearly identical copies of the signal, its just how much additional noise they pick up... unless perhaps the keyboard itself produces -63 decibals of noise and with an...

    Noise Level at -63db?

I just bought balanced cables to connect my keyboards balanced outputs to my Delta44s balanced inputs... yet I see and hear noise in my recording program at -63dB I thought balanced cabled ommitted noise?!?! I just did a comparison between balanced and unbalanced cables, the unbalanced gave me...

Delta 44 owners I need your help!

What have you found to be the best settings in the configuration window? I am confused how to figure out what to set the latency to mostly, and should the sample rate match whatever your software is recording at? what do you have yours set to? (and what is rate locked/ rate reset at idle?)...

SPDIF vs. Balanced, Which = Better Quality?

Ok i found out what the sampling rate is via a forum about my keyboard but i dont quite understand the post here it is: "Yes, like phran said, the S/PDIF output from the Fantom-X is 24-bit word size 44.1 kHz sample rate 2 channel (stereo) It should be noted that the data from the S/PDIF...

SPDIF vs. Balanced, Which = Better Quality?

How Do I find out the bitrate/sample rate? It says in the owners manual it says "Data Format: 16 bit linear (Filetype Wav. Aiff.)" and it says "Sampling Frequency: 44.1kHz Fixed" but these are under the "Sample Section" and because this keyboard is a sampler I have a feeling this is just the...

    Using Digital I/O

i understand how they work.. im asking if one is better than the other for quality my goal is to open Audition, hit record, and lay down tracks on my keyboard at the highest quality possible, meaning also that there is no noise interferene that I have to use clean up filters for or anything. I...

SPDIF vs. Balanced, Which = Better Quality?

I have a Roland Fantom x7 with dual balanced outputs and an SPDIF output. my delta 44 has balanced inputs and my E-mu 0404 has an SPDIF in. Which one should I use for maximum quality?

Is balanced cable as good as SPDIF? if it is then I will return my 0404... is it definately equal in quality? or is it still better to go digital?
