depends, is it a dynamic or a condenser? dynamics i would just unscrew the head, rinse the head out, and scrub the grill with a toothbrush (don't EVER brush your teeth with this brush though).

but the composer has a limiter on each channel, and can't i just tweak in a little high frequency boost on the mixing board instead of the "dynamic enhancer"?

is the dynamic enhancer a good reason to go with the autocom rather than the composer?

i would suggest it when recording vocals, the internal screen isn't good enough for studio use, but then again no mic's internal screen is. (side note: most people including people on this bbs will tell you a 58 is no good for vocals. if it sounds good for the person you're recording, though, go...

I have an SB live and when I record with it, the sound is fine except it "farts" every second. Not stuttering, because the sound is continuous, but there is a gross noise at a certain interval. Any thoughts?
