Hi! I am looking for some smart advice. I am getting rid of my miing board in favor of getting one single better sounding mic pre. A channel strip really, maybe with compression and eq.

I was looking at 200 dollars (+/- 100) , I only need one channel, and the only items I can find are the ART Tube Pac and the DBX 286a. Any ideas/help?
 
The Art or that Meek would be my guesses.....the mics and what you are using them for can be a factor as different mics will interact with different pres in many ways.....
