Thanks for the appraisal. Unfortunately I can't do much about the mixes because they are karaoke tracks. I tried to clean them up and it only got worse. I did overdo the lower freqs on Fantasy, though. He stopped loving her was for my mother. I am not a huge fan of George Jones. Don't get me...

    Anyone remember me?

Anymore? Really low and more toward the center... I posted some karaoke songs in the singer whatever section just to see if anyone would actually listen. One person has. So, it's just like I remember it here....

One more song. My voice is higher than the original, just to get that out of the way. I wanted to make this song my own, so I took some liberties with it.

Eye of the Tiger is another example of staying in your range. The song is in a key too high for your voice.

WOW! What a difference! People Are Strange is a perfect example of what I am talking about. Jim Morrison should be a shining example to you to. His voice is far, far from perfect. He taught himself how to sing when he came up with the idea out of the blue that he wanted to be a rock star. You...

Okay... I only listened to the songs that I knew, and there were only a couple, but a few things really stand out: On Tears In Heaven, you were mostly flat in the beginning, but there were a couple of times, the line "and carry on", you were really strong and in key. Concentrate on that aspect...

I'm no George Strait, that much is certain. I do like his music, but I'm a firm believer that only he can do his songs justice. He's one who chooses his songs very carefully. Most of them are written for him. He won't do a song that's out of his range, nor will he do one he can't emotionally...

Here it is. Make sure you aren't eating or drinking when you listen to this. It might end up on your screen....

I'll post another song I did a little later on. Right now I am maxing out my laptop's memory doing a 3D art render. When I get that done I'll post another song I did, different genre, so you can see what I mean about singing in a genre your voice is comfortable with. GREAT singers can sing...

Quick question about digital "buzz" on acoustic guitar recordings

Proximity maybe? How far away from the mic is your guitar? It also sounds like maybe you are recording a little hot.

I will give it a listen and let you know what I think.

It's funny you said that. I actually posted an AC/DC inspired song on here years ago and that's when all the comments about two cats fighting started. There are songs that I do well at. Believe it or not, I can sing "After All These Years" by Journey. I can do Firehouse, Reo Speedwagon...

The biggest hurdle I had when I started was getting used to the sound of my own voice recorded. If you take the vocal track you recorded and solo it in your DAW, you will see where you are going off the scale and what you need to work on. You noted that I sounded like I was out of breath in a...

One of the things that I discovered when I started singing 10 years ago was that I sing in that register. I was getting a lot of grief for it. Some of them were asking me to sing "normal". I was hurt by the comments until I realized that what you hear IS normal for me. I do have a few country...

    Anyone remember me?

Yeah, I took a left turn at the light and got lost. I don't recognize this place anymore. But I will hang out and maybe remember a few things I had forgotten.

I am seeing the changes. I also see that DAW users with ADD thread is still alive. I think that thing must have the record for the longest thread ever in existence. I can't contribute the way I used to, but I will lurk around and see what happens.

Yeah, I realize it's early, but I was hoping that someone would actually listen to it. Oh well, I'll check back tomorrow. I am in Korea at the moment and it's after midnight here. I don't even know what time it is in the states.

I am just trying to gauge where I am at. I only started working on my voice a few months ago, when arthritis took my hands away from me. You don't have to be kind. The kindest thing anyone previously said about my singing was that I sounded like two cats fighting. I think I may have improved...

Not new to the forum... but the forum is new to me!

Hey! I'm back after 4 years too. Arthritis took my hands away from me most days, but I can still mess around. I started working on my voice. If anyone remembers, the kindest thing anyone ever said about my singing was that I sounded like two cats fighting. I hope I've improved.
