    Analyzing Resonant Frequencies?

I remember a link to a virtual test tone oscillator, it was pretty cool. Looked like a little handheld device and you could switch frequencies. Anyone remember the link?

how do i get that major label sound?

Main thing is to listen to several samples of recordings/mixes done at each studio you're interested in. More important than the studio looking like a world class facility is the guy who's doing the work. A great engineer will do a better job with mediocre or out of date equipment, than a...

    A Mess!

Brass should be behind, imho. Probably would give you the best sound in the room, too.

tuning pegs and screws that hold them in - lost

Tuning peg came off of my acoustic (kids deny knowing what happened!!!) and then took off another to take the screw into the hardware store to buy one the same size. Now the second tuning peg and screw are missing!!! Does anyone know what size screw (if it's standard at all) we'll need?

    More Microphone Help HELP!!!!!

Why not just get a SM57? Cheap good way to mic a guitar, and it's usually passable/ok for vocals too. Any condenser mic will require phantom power, but the the ART tube MP does supply it.

    Tube Overheads!

On the other hand, you might want to investigate the Antares Mic Modeler. I've never used it, but i've heard a few positive reports. The idea is you can use cheap mics and the plugin digitally emulates expensive mics including c12's. Hard to believe, and my guess is that it may not work well...

    Tube Overheads!

You realize C12's are like $5000, a pair maybe $9000. And if they have mics like that, they would also have primo mic pre's and excellent sounding drum room, not to mention great reverb. You just have to do the best you can with all of these elements.

    Tube Overheads!

There's a lot more variables than just the mics. Cymbals, room acoustics, and mic preamps are all equally important.

Missing piece from double kick pedal

Damn. Lost the link part from my DW double kick pedal. You know, that long rectangular thing that goes between the elbow on each pedal. At the drum store, they tell me it's over $100 and a special order!!! Just a little simple piece of metal!! Any suggestions? I might as well just buy a...

reverb on "axis bold as love"

The first half is probably an EMT plate with some predelay (probably used the reverb send to go to tape, off the playback head for a bit of delay before being routed to the plate) You're probably interested in the effect starting with the drum solo part in the middle. The second half...

patch bay -- 1/4" or TT?

Time for me to get serious about patch bays. What are the inherent strengths of getting a TT patch bay as opposed to a 1/4" bay?

Advice about long computer cable runs please

Thanks everyone, for your suggestions. I ordered 3 30M kvm (keyboard.video/mouse) PC cables. Seems like that'll be fine. But the places I've called don't handle Macs. Any Mac cable extension links out there?

Advice about long computer cable runs please

Moving my CPU's to a machine room to get quiet here in my control room. Would love some advice/links to long (25') keyboard/mouse/monitor cable extensions. I've got a Mac, a PC, and a Mackie D8B and HDR, so basically 3 PC's and a Mac. Any performance differences between different products?

Getting rid of specific room resonance

John, I don't have a completely accurate drawing, but this is fairly close. The doors are not at all the same, and there's a large window across the front of the control room. The entire building is roughly 50'x25'. The pic is in this thread...
